Spatial Planning (E19)

The course is a combination of lectures, colloquiums and discussions on recent theories and paradigms within the realm of urban and landscape planning and design. 

With a focus on the impact on the planning and design of urban and landscape environments in a Danish and international context, the course lectures present a run-through of the history of the city, introductions to classic concepts and understandings of the urban and the rural from architecture, sociology, geography, anthropology and the arts, relevant contemporary research and discussions within academia

The students read and discuss seminal texts on the theories and paradigms presented as a means of a deeper, critical understanding of the issues at stake.
